Reliance Jio Wins! Voice Calls Will Be Free for Lifetime

There were lots of news on the air regarding Reliance Jio. We have seen Jio is dominating the Indian telecom market. Airtel very often releases new offers to attract customers. However, it failed.

We have recently seen Airtel offered V-Fiber Broadband service in India but only in those locations where Airtel’s broadband service already exists. So, there are lot’s of competition going on in the telecom market.

Reliance Jio, which is currently dominating the market owned by Mukesh Ambani already offered free voice calls, SMS, free data to its subscribers. Reliance Jio in a statement said that their main focus is to make “free voice calling for Local, STD and National roaming for all times.”

According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Reliance Jio new tariff plans to offer free voice calls for life is not unfair. Trai said in a letter to telecom operators “it is found that the tariff plans filed with Trai cannot be considered as IUC non-complaint, predatory and discriminatory, at present”

Competitor Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, and many others appealed Trai against free call service which is being offered by Reliance Jio, calling the free plans predatory, discriminatory and non-complaint to present rules.

Reliance Jio while reacting to Trai letter said “This (Trai’s letter) clearly establishes the fact that all the tariffs offered by RJIL are in compliance with the prevailing regulations. A key feature of RJIL’s tariff packs is free to voice calling for Local, STD and National roaming for all times.”

Trai also said “The revised offer of free services by Reliance Jio has been limited to 90 days i.e. December 3, 2016, and therefore is consistent with the guidelines on promotional offers”

According To Reliance Jio Infocomm limited filing with the TRAI “the Jio Welcome Offer will be available to all the customers for subscription until December 3, 2016. RJIL wishes to reconfirm that JWO benefits of free unlimited voice and data will continue to be available to all subscribers until December 31, 2016”

The company also said that they will be expanding up with more consumer-friendly offers and tariffs to improve the consumer experience.
